Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Disneyland, and countless Disney original movies, Walt Disney is possibly the most well-known icon of entertainment ever.  Disney was no stranger to failure:

 

  • He was fired by a newspaper editor because "he lacked imagination and had no good ideas."

  • His first cartoon business, Laugh-O-Gram, went bankrupt. 

  • His acting career flopped. 

  • His first successful animation, Oswald the Lucky Duck, was hijacked by his animators. 

  • He suffered a mental breakdown under the pressure of mounting debts after creating Mickey Mouse. 

  • The City of Anaheim initially rejected his proposal for Disneyland because “it will only attract riffraff.”
