This Is Me

I am Teresa Leigh Kerrigan. I am an attorney by training, a mother by choice, a teacher by necessity and a wife by luck!  Throughout this blog, you will learn about my journey to parent my 5 extremely different children with a variety of needs and special conditions. I have been so blessed to have a huge village of friends, family, therapists and other professionals support me along this path. I wish only to share the information I have learned on my journey thus far with other parents in search of peaceful parenting!   

I am blessed to have married an amazing man from an enormous Irish Catholic family.  Among them are my husband, his 8 older sisters and 1 older brother, who together love their 34 kids ranging in age from 7-24 years old.  My only sister manages 9 children, 7 adopted and 2 homemade.  In addition to this support system, I am so fortunate to have a huge network of both friends who are parents and non-friends who are parents, whom I stalk on Facebook for their parenting thoughts, ideas and strategies.  I research!  Goodness knows I can research the heck out of an issue and I love to learn and try new things.  Last, I am humbled by the skill and passion of the ABA therapists in my life.  Their impact not only my parenting, but also my personal life, has been remarkable!
